Steve Allen Moore
Steve Allen Moore, 72, entered eternal peace on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Steve was born on July 3, 1949, a son of the late Eules and Thelma (Martin) Moore. He attended Hirschi High School in Wichita Falls, TX prior to serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. Steve moved to Stamford following his tour in the Army and worked as a truck driver for several companies. On June 2, 1997, Steve married Peggy Withrow in Anson, TX, sharing almost 25 years together. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his family for his funny sense of humor, wood working skills and the time he spent with his family and being “Pappy” to the grandchildren. He was a Baptist by faith. He was predeceased by his parents, Eules and Thelma. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his: loving wife Peggy Moore of the home; 9 children, Robert Jarvis (Gerlyn) of Lueders, TX, Benny Jarvis (Arla), Lueders, TX, Melissa Chabek (Herb), Melinda McCarter (Dean), Melody Hicks, Haskell, TX, Misty Stevens, Lueders, TX, Marcy Greenwood (Cody), Hawley, TX, Maranda Gallagher, Hamlin, TX, Sabrina Muehlstein (Jim), Stamford, TX; 5 brothers; Mitchell Hudgens (Kay) of Lubbock, TX, Monroe Moore of Cleburn, TX, James Moore, Houston, TX, David Wisdom of Cleburne, TX, Mike Wisdom; 2 sisters; Shelia Dashford and Peggy Nitnauer (Frank); special aunt, Marie Brown of Wichita Falls, TX; 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Friends and relatives were invited to the Tankersley Funeral Home (807 Columbia) in Stamford Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. as the family gathered for visitation. Services were held Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Les Mims officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Valley Cemetery east of Stamford.
