Adron Foy Staley, 87, of Lueders, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025. Adron was born in Brownwood, TX., to Zara Staley and Clara (Profitt) Staley, on May 3, 1937. He went to school at Anson High School, class of 1955, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Culwell, July. 11, 1954 in Stamford, TX.
Adron attended McMurry College before beginning his lifetime career in sales with the grocery industry. He worked in all capacities of the business before owning and operating Staley's Grocery Store in Lueders, TX until 2000 when he sold the store and retired. Adron also had agriculture interest working as a self-employed farmer and cattle man.
He enjoyed his title of "Granddaddy" and being involved in activities with his grandchildren and great grandchildren but especially enjoyed time with his beloved wife, Jeanne. Adron was a devoted family man and a devout Christian who served in numerous roles in the Baptist church. He served in his community as a member of the Lueders-Avoca School Board.
Adron is survived by his loving wife of almost 71 years, Jeanne Staley of Lueders, TX; daughter, Lisa Smith and husband Tim of Hawley, TX; and two grandsons, Nick Goss and wife Brittney of Hawley, TX and Blake Goss and wife Megan of Spencer, Iowa; numerous other relatives and friends
Adron is preceded in death by his parents, Zara and Clara Staley, one sister, Dorothy Wilson and 1 son, Sean Staley.
Adron's life will be celebrated SUNDAY, March 9, at 2 p.m. during graveside services at the Bethel Cemetery in Funston, TX with Pastor Les Mims officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Tankersley Funeral Home in Stamford, TX.
